How do I send a report or ask a question?
Click on "File a report" or "Ask a question" and follow the instructions. The process is simple. You can also file a report or ask a question by leaving a telephone message. You can find the relevant number for your country under the tab "Telephone Message."
Can I remain anonymous?
It depends on your location and the location of the alleged misconduct. In some countries, anonymous reports are not permitted by law. If anonymous reporting is not permitted in your country, the system will not allow or accept anonymous reports.
How is my anonymity protected?
When using the secure Integrity Platform, no IP address data, time stamps or metadata are logged or recorded by Integrity Line. All data is encrypted and stored on the Integrity Line servers based in Switzerland. Thus, no information linking your computer to Integrity Line is available. Once you have clicked on "File a report" or "Ask a question", you will remain anonymous unless you choose to disclose your name. You can also remain anonymous by using the telephone system if permissible in your country. You should be aware, however, that it is possible for a judicial authority to require a telephone company to release connection information by court order. In this case, your identity might be revealed.
What if I use my work computer?
If you access the Integrity Platform by using your work computer, LafargeHolcim IT can see that you have accessed the Platform. They cannot, however, see what you have been doing on the Platform. So they don't know if you have only been reading the FAQs or if you have actually filed a report. Still, if you want to prevent this, go to an Internet Café or use your personal computer at home.
Can I make a report by phone?
Yes. For most countries, a toll free number is available to you. You can find the number for use in your country at the bottom of this page under the tab "Telephone Message".
Why would I identify myself in a report?
When you identify yourself, you help Group Compliance and others involved in investigations and remediation efforts to act more quickly and effectively to solve any issues that may exist.
How will my confidentiality be protected if I choose to disclose my identity?
If you report a good faith concern about a legal violation and identify yourself, your identity is considered to be private and must be protected. This means your identity may be disclosed only to those people at LafargeHolcim who need the information to investigate and resolve your allegation, or where necessary to protect the interests of the company.
What should I report?
In principle, every incident violating applicable laws and/or the LafargeHolcim Code of Business Conduct should be reported. However, in some countries only restricted categories of misconduct can be reported via the Integrity Line. Please consult the LafargeHolcim Compliance Reporting Directive that can be found on the Group Compliance webpage for any such restrictions.
Why do I need the "Postbox" function?
The postbox allows you to maintain your anonymity while being in direct contact with the LafargeHolcim personnels who are processing your report. You can access the postbox with your individual incident number and your password. You will receive both elements before submitting a report. Please check your postbox frequently, as you may receive an answer from the LafargeHolcim report handling team or more information from you may be required to clarify the incident.
What happens after a report has been submitted?
All reports are read by a team of LafargeHolcim compliance personnel and/or technical experts. They will decide how to proceed and will get in touch with you if they need to ask further questions or obtain additional information. Please take into account that an investigation may take several months, especially in complex cases. Furthermore, for privacy reasons, it may not be possible to inform you about the outcome of the investigation.
Should I be concerned about negative consequences if I send a report?
Not for simply filing a report. LafargeHolcim will not tolerate any sanctions against you as a result of a report made in good faith. Filing a report in good faith means you believe that what you report is true and you have reason to believe that a violation of applicable laws and/or the LafargeHolcim Code of Business Conduct has taken place.
What if the content of the report proves to be incorrect at a later point of time?
The important thing is that at the time the report is submitted, you believe or reasonably assume that the content is accurate and that laws or the LafargeHolcim Code of Business Conduct have been violated. You are not expected to gather evidence or resolve the situation yourself. We will undertake the investigation. It may be possible that the investigation concludes that no infringement has taken place. In this case, you do not need to be concerned about negative consequences.
Will my supervisor be informed about the allegation? Who else in my department might find out?
Your supervisor may or may not be informed about the allegation, depending upon the particular circumstances of your report. In most cases, leadership within the department where the wrongdoing is alleged to have occurred will be notified, as well as others who may have a need to know parts of a report in order to do their jobs or assist in any investigation. This notice typically includes general information about the nature of the allegation. This is necessary in many cases because employees in the department may be interviewed, asked for documents, or otherwise involved in an investigation. In some cases, a supervisor may not be told about an allegation until an initial investigation has taken place, documents or evidence secured, or other actions are taken to ensure the matter is fully investigated and resolved.
My report will say that a co-worker or supervisor is doing something wrong. Will that person find out that I am the source of the report, if I choose to reveal my identity?
This depends to some degree upon the specifics of your allegation. If you are reporting an incident that was observed by several people, or where documents or physical evidence exists (even if you don't have the evidence yourself), LafargeHolcim's report handling team may be able to fully investigate the matter without revealing you as the reporter. If, however, no documents or other evidence exists to support an allegation other than your report, LafargeHolcim's report handling team may be unable to further investigate the matter or to impose disciplinary action unless you come forward. In these cases, LafargeHolcim's report handling team will work with you to provide you with appropriate resources and protection to assure that you will not be treated unfairly for having raised a good faith concern in the event your identity is made known.
